About

The PhD Alumni & Careers website is an initiative of the ERIM Alumni Association (EAA). The mission of the ERIM Alumni Association is to foster positive and productive relationships between the Institute (including faculty and PhD candidates) and its PhD alumni by providing opportunities for networking, learning and career development, in order to strengthen the position of both alumni and ERIM.

Objectives

Primary Objectives

• Manage relations between ERIM and its PhD alumni, and stimulate contacts among the ERIM PhD alumni.
• Provide ERIM PhD alumni with opportunities to interact with current ERIM PhD candidates, Erasmus faculty and other relevant parties from academia and industry, which contributes to lifelong learning and helps ERIM PhD alumni to stay informed about the University.
• Support ERIM PhD alumni in their search for jobs at leading universities and corporations.

Secondary Objectives

• Raise awareness of and promote the Association to current and potential members, University staff and faculty, community, industry and public audiences.
• Raise awareness of and promote ERIM, its PhD alumni and the University.
• Develop positive, interactive partnerships and promote goodwill with other alumni associations.
• Conduct all business on behalf of and to the benefit of its members in an honourable and responsible manner and be fully accountable to the membership.

Board

The EAA has a board that consists of three members. The EAA board members and their positions are:

1. Erik Kole: Chairman (promotion of EAA; contacts with ERIM, PhDs and alumni; EAA web site)   
2. Joop Huij: Business Relations Officer (business career development; research fund raising in industry)
3. Jos van Iwaarden: Academic Relations Officer (academic career development; seminars/workshops)
