Network
The Closed Loop Supply Chains network is a group of academics in Operations Research and Business Administration. The network includes leading universities interested in sharing ideas and conducting practice driven scientific research. The network meets every at the “Closed-Loop Supply Chains Workshop”, with on average 70 persons. Multiple books and papers are the result of this long-lasting cooperation.

The first 4 workshops were run under the title 'Business Aspects of Closed-Loop Supply Chains'. The ideas behind the CLSC workshops were to (1) take a business perspective, and (2) have global participation. The workshops were initially sponsored by Michael Trick, then the director of the Carnegie Bosch Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2003 and 2004 the US National Science Foundation provided the primary support with some funding from the Carnegie Mellon Institute.
