About

The Erasmus Finance Group contains all researchers of the Erasmus University Rotterdam who work in the field of Finance and who are member of either the ERIM or the Tinbergen research institutes. Our members come from three organizational units: The Finance group at the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), the Finance group at the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE), and the Econometrics group at ESE.

While we work in different departments, we strive to be a single, integrated, and internationally highly visible research group. Our research activities include the Erasmus Finance Seminar where internationally highly distinguished guests present their research, a Brown-Bag Seminar for internal discussions of our own research, various specialized conferences, joint PhD education and supervisions, coordinated recruitment efforts, and joint research projects. We aim for high quality scientific contributions in all major areas of finance, and disseminate our knowledge locally and internationally.

Erasmus Finance is associated with two research institutes that both organize a full-fledged PhD program. The Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM) organizes a PhD in Management with a specialization in Finance. A list of the current Finance PhD students in this program can be found here. On the other hand, the Tinbergen Institute (TI) offers a PhD program in Economics with specialization in Finance as well as a PhD program in Finance. A list of the current TI students can be found here. We are also associated with the Duisenberg School of Finance in Amsterdam.

The Erasmus Finance Group has access to all major financial databases (WRDS, CRSP, Compustat, Datastream, Bloomberg, I/B/E/S, Thomson One Banker, TAQ, CRSP Mutual Funds, RiskMetrics, OptionMetrics, etc). For a detailed list of the databases subscribed, please visit the website of the Erasmus Data Service Centre (EDSC).
