Pre-experience programmes
The people in our group contribute to courses in both the Bachelors and the Masters programmes, either as course coordinators, or as teachers on the courses of others.
Bachelors
Technology for Managers (BAB20)
This course describes how technology can be used in companies. The focus will be on how technology can be used in the long run for redesigning products/services, production processes or core competencies of a company (technology push). Goal of this course is to explore for a selected technology which technological developments happened in the past and which are currently going on, the relevance of this technology for society both in the past and in the present, and, most of all, what the impact of this technology was and will be on a company.
Dr. Erik van Raaij is one of the teachers of this course. The course is coordinated by Prof. Jan Dul.
Masters
Strategic Sourcing (BKMME47)
The objective of this master elective is to provide you with the opportunity to deepen your conceptual understanding and practical skills regarding strategic sourcing, using a mix of ‘state of the art’ theory and practical examples. Specifically, we will focus on the strategic and tactical aspects of purchasing and supply, such as commodity strategy development (e.g. single vs. multiple sourcing), supplier selection and collaboration in product and business development.
Dr. Erik van Raaij and
Prof. Finn Wynstra are the teachers of this course. The course is coordinated by Dr. Erik van Raaij.
Global Supply Chain Management (IM03CC)
The course focuses on a variety of challenging supply chain business situations. For example, how different types of supply contracts can be used to design win-win solutions between buyer and supplier, how the benefits of information sharing can be estimated in the context of supply chain, and what supply chain strategies match with proliferating product variety. Other topics include, but are not limited to, supply chain design, performance measurement and metrics, inter-organizational collaboration, business process integration, and alignment of incentives.
Dr. Erik van Raaij is one of the teachers of this course. The course is coordinated by Prof. René de Koster.
Designing and Managing the Supply Chain (BKM02SCM)
This core course is intended for students with a strong interest in understanding logistics and operations – in either manufacturing or service industries – and the role supply chains and supply chain operations can play in business strategy and the creation of a competitive advantage. The course has a strong managerial focus (analysing and evaluating a complex situation, taking effective action, getting things done), and it is therefore also valuable to students with an interest in general management.
Prof. Finn Wynstra is one of the teachers of this course. The course is coordinated by Prof. Steef van de Velde.
Research Clinic SCM+MI
The clinic for Master students of Supply Chain Management and Management of Innovation serves as a ‘refresher course’ on research methods, specifically geared towards the MSc thesis project. The clinic both addresses theory-oriented research and practice-oriented research. The course is coordinated by
Prof. Finn Wynstra.
