The new worlds of work are doing well
Rotterdam/Enschede, June 2011 – Well-being, balance between work and private life and employee involvement all improve in the New Worlds of Work (NWW). Other ubiquitous expectations, such as increased productivity, are not achieved to the same extent. This is not a problem as such, as 75% of the focus of introducing NWW is on ‘soft targets’, including employee retention and sustainable employability. Major obstacles to the introduction of NWW include losing routine, lack of self-steering skills, the potential loss of social cohesion and a management style that is not appropriate to NWW.
