Visit by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer

On October 8, 2009, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer visited Erasmus University. The event was subsequently broadcasted on Dutch television as NOVA College Tour with Steve Ballmer, and anchorman Twan Huys.

At his visit, five hundred students spoke with Ballmer about the future of Microsoft. They asked him how Microsoft wants to engage its competitors Apple and Google, and whether this is a battle Microsoft can win after the failure of Vista, the limited fame of Microsoft’s search engine Bing, and the success of Apple’s iPhone. The students were also interested in Ballmer’s role as manager within the company and they asked him for advice on how to become successful.
