RSM celebrated by Aspen Institute for Excellence on Social and Environmental Issues Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University has demonstrated significant leadership in integrating social, environmental and ethical issues into its MBA programme, according to the Aspen Institute’s 2009-2010 edition of Beyond Grey Pinstripes, a biennial survey and alternative ranking of business schools. The school ranks 7th on a global list of the Top 100 business schools, being the first on the European list and second on an international non-US list.

Management professor Gail Whiteman has made potential implications of climate change the main focus of a required undergraduate class she teaches. It's also covered extensively in an MBA elective, called 'Companies in Ecologies.' Her goal is to "try to move away from the doom and gloom and say, 'What can we do?' We're creative, smart, committed people.'"
