In the article, they argue that while The Netherlands excels in talking about sustainability and in formulating ambitious targets to achieve it, the execution is often poor and targets are not met.

RSM celebrated by Aspen Institute for Excellence on Social and Environmental Issues Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University has demonstrated significant leadership in integrating social, environmental and ethical issues into its MBA programme, according to the Aspen Institute’s 2009-2010 edition of Beyond Grey Pinstripes, a biennial survey and alternative ranking of business schools. Management professor Gail Whiteman has made potential implications of climate change the main focus of a required undergraduate class she teaches. It's also covered extensively in an MBA elective, called 'Companies in Ecologies.' Her goal is to "try to move away from the doom and gloom and say, 'What can we do?' We're creative, smart, committed people.'"
