Urban Management in practice: London Thames Gateway

Kevin Whittle, head of policy at the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation, was invited to visit Erasmus University Rotterdam as a practical expert. On the 17th of September, Kevin Whittle guest lectured for group of students of the initial master programme of Urban, Port and Transport Economics. He spoke with them about the urban developments that are taking place in London at the moment. The evelopments in London are on a large scale (800.000 ha), which is quite different from normal Dutch developments. The students were enthusiastic to hear about the lessons to be learned from London developments. Afterwards, he spoke for the students of the post-initial master programme ‘Master City Developer’ at the yearly MCD seminar.
