Summary

The overall aim of the Strategy Programme is to be considered as belonging to the top 5 European academic research centres in strategy and in particular in strategic renewal. To accomplish this the programme aims at high quality research and high productivity and at having a dual impact on science and society. Six years ago our programme focused on four related themes. We strengthened the programme by integrating these themes and by investigating several topics in more depth (e.g. the exploitation/ exploration research became concentrated on the antecedents of important dimensions of ambidexterity) and we started investigating related topics that appeared to be promising. Examples of the latter are the increasing focus on Corporate Entrepreneurship, Top Management Teams (TMT) and leadership styles and the impact of the so-called non-technological determinants (e.g. managerial innovations) of innovation on strategic renewal. By so doing we have strengthened our position as an internationally leading research group in strategic renewal, with increased visibility and impact. For the coming years we see the following main challenges: to maintain a high quality research focus and to acquire sufficient resources to accomplish this. We aim to address these by attracting very talented people and by further strengthening the productive and high quality research context.
