Family Business Network

The Family Business Network is a not-for-profit international network that is run by family businesses, for family businesses, with the aim of strengthening success over generations. The Family Business Network (FBN) is about:

  • sharing best practice and knowledge within our worldwide network;
  • supporting the Next Generation (aged 18-40) of business-owning families;
  • and promoting the case for family business to governments and tax decision-makers. 

FBNed - The Dutch Association of Family Firms

FBNed - the Dutch Association of Family Firms - stands for responsible family entrepreneurship. FBNed aims at promoting the continuation of family businesses and strengthening the position of family business in the Netherlands, by facilitating the exchange of experiences among family businesses, knowledge development and advocacy.

Membership is open exclusively to family businesses which have already been controlled, through ownership, by one family or a small number of families for some considerable time. They recognize the importance of exchanging ideas and experiences and are willing to devote time and attention to such matters together with the family members involved. The activities of FBNed include keynote conferences, family business visits, workshops, round tables and dedicated next generation activities through NextGeNed.

European Family Businesses

The objectives of European Family Businesses are to promote a full understanding of the key role of family-owned enterprises in Europe’s economy, to press for policies that will support the creation of a level playing field for family businesses compared to all other types of companies, and to ensure recognition of their contribution to the entrepreneurial culture and social cohesion in Europe. In addition, European Family Businesses represents and supports the next generation of entrepreneurs.

International Family Enterprise Research Academy

IFERA, the International Family Enterprise Research Academy, is dedicated to fostering a network of academics, business owners and practitioners committed to supporting the family business field.

The Family Enterprise Research Conference (FERC)

The Family Enterprise Research Conference is dedicated to developing a community of scholars interested in conducting research into understanding family firms and creating usable knowledge in this field. Co-founded by Mark Green and Pramodita Sharma, the goal of this conference is to enable scholars to design and develop research projects that are theoretically sound, empirically accurate, and of practical significance to family firms.

Family Firm Institute

The Family Firm Institute is the leading membership association worldwide for professionals serving the family enterprise field. It provides a global forum for practitioners, academics and others to acquire multidisciplinary knowledge while engaging in collaborative opportunities.
