Am I required to submit GMAT or GRE test results?

Yes. A GMAT or GRE is required for all applicants to the programme.

Can I replace a GMAT/GRE test by a similar kind of test taken at my university or at the ministry of education of my country?

No. We only accept GMAT and GRE tests.

The bachelor/master programme(s) I have followed was/were taught in English. Do I still need to submit a TOEFL/IELTS test?

Yes. If your native language isn’t English, you must submit scores from TOEFL or IELTS tests, even if your university programme was taught in English.

If the language of instruction of your pre-university education was English, you do not need to submit TOEFL/IELTS scores. You’ll have to provide us with  a copy of relevant documents and a TOEFL/IELTS waiver request. Chinese applicants always have to submit an IELTS or a TOEFL internet-based test (see Nuffic website for more information).

Do you accept English proficiency tests other than TOEFL/IELTS?

No. Chinese applicants always need an IELTS or a TOEFL internet-based test to come to study in the Netherlands (see Nuffic website for more information).

Do you accept the TOEFL ITP test?

No.

Can I apply for a waiver from GMAT/GRE and TOEFL/IELTS?

We don’t give GMAT/GRE waivers. However, it’s possible to apply for a waiver from TOEFL/IELTS if your pre-university education was given in English. In this case please enclose an extra letter with your motivation to your application. Do not forget to enclose relevant documents. Chinese applicants always need an IELTS or a TOEFL internet-based test to obtain a Nuffic certificate to study in the Netherlands (view Nuffic website for more information).

My country does not have a GMAT/GRE office or the tests are fully booked for the coming months. Do I still have to submit the test?

Yes. You may have to travel to another country to take the test.

My official GMAT/GRE report could only be available shortly after the application deadline. Is that a problem?

The official results take approximately 3 weeks to become available. However, the preliminary test results are available immediately after the test. You can submit these preliminary results to the ERIM office before you receive the official results. That would help us with the pre-assessment of your application package.

Are there minimum requirements for GMAT/GRE and TOEFL/IELTS tests?

We expect applicants to have GMAT/GRE scores of above 85% and a good command of English. The expected score for internet-based TOEFL is 100, for paper-based TOEFL 600 and for IELTS 7.5.

How do I obtain certified copies of my diplomas and transcripts?

A certified copy can be made by your university, a notary, a sworn translator or at a City Hall.

Can I apply for a scholarship?

ERIM does not provide its students with scholarships. For information on possible external scholarships, please refer to the Study in Holland website.

I will officially complete my bachelor degree after the application deadline. Can I still apply?

Yes. You must submit your most recent preliminary official list of grades instead of the final one.

Could you return my documents when I do not get accepted to the programme?

No. ERIM will not return any documents included in your application package. Never send original diplomas or transcripts. Your application, including certified copies of your diplomas and transcripts, will become property of Erasmus University Rotterdam.
