Quality Assurance

At ERIM, you’re in good hands. Our quality assurance procedures are structured to monitor every level and track of the ERIM Research Master, internally and externally.

ERIM was officially accredited by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) in 1999 and was re-accredited for another six years in 2010.

The ERIM Research Master programme was accredited by the Dutch and Flemish Accreditation Organisation for Higher Education (NVAO) in 2004. Re-accreditation took place in 2015, and will stand for another six years. The programme also has a process of internal quality assurance, embedded in the accreditation process of ERIM as research school, and within the international accreditation of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM).

RSM is part of an elite group of less than 1% of business schools worldwide that hold the ‘Triple Crown’ accreditation from the three leading international accreditation organisations; The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, AACSB; the Association of MBAs, AMBA; and EQUIS, the European Quality Improvement System. These organisations regularly assess all programmes offered by RSM, including ERIM programmes.

The internal quality assurance of the ERIM Research Master programme is monitored and evaluated at various levels and points. All students are asked to fill out an evaluation form after each course. Results are communicated to course co-ordinators and lecturers.

The programme is also evaluated in specialisation areas and research track levels. A track co-ordinator is appointed for each of the five tracks (LIS, ORG, MKT, FIN, and S&E), and each is a leading scholars in their field. They discuss your progress and potential course opportunities. They also evaluate the coherence of the courses and suggest improvements for your track programme. External evaluation of the programme takes place at regular intervals.
