Profile

Lars Norden is an associate professor of finance at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM).

His research interests include financial intermediation, empirical banking, credit derivatives, credit ratings, and empirical finance.

His work has been published in the leading academic journals in the field including the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Banking and Finance, and Small Business Economics.

Professor Norden is the academic director of the Master of Science in Finance & Investments. He is a regular presenter at major industry conferences including the AEA, AFA, WFA, EFA, and FIRS.

Before joining RSM in 2009, he was an assistant professor at the University of Mannheim.

He has been a visiting faculty member at Indiana University in the US and the research centre of the Deutsche Bundesbank in Germany.

Professor Norden holds a doctoral degree in business administration from the University of Mannheim in Germany and graduate degrees from the University of Mannheim and ESSEC Business School in France.
