Addicted to Migrants?

Abstract

Are migrants a kind of a contemporary “doping”, which allows for a rejuventation of ageing societies? Various modes of a present-day migration to developed countries deliver mobile and creative people, human and social capital, versatile and educated labour force, hot specialists in ICT - anything on demand.
Researchers point out that migration is not a zero-sum game, but allows for a sustainable process of growth in host societies in the long run ('at an aggregate level, immigration stimulates economic growth in receiving countries', Goldin, 2011).

One of the greatest professional road racing cyclist ever needed many years to say `yes, I did it take drugs'. How many years will developed countries need to acknowledge the contribution of migrants to their welfare and prosperity?
