Abstract

The design of business models and their evolution over time are increasingly discussed among management scholars and practitioners. This Symposium brings together state-of-the-art research on these topics, combining different perspectives. The three paper presentations will shed light on the definition of business model, suggesting different angles to understand how value is created. With examples taken from different industries, these papers will also show different paths that companies might follow during the innovation of the business model and how customers and different stakeholders can be involved in the change process. Moreover, the process of idea management will also be discussed. The Symposium will take place after a public PhD defense on business model innovation in the Dutch creative industry.
