Abstract
The paper and discussion follows the police procedural series The Wire broadcast 2002-2008 on HBO. The paper was published as a review in AMR, suggesting that it was one of the most sustained and penetrating analyses of our western economic system in recent years. The paper orients itself around three 'reasons' why The Wire might be watched, listened to and engaged with by researchers in organization and management studies.
