Double Seminar on Quality Management Research in Australia

Speakers

Abstract

The focus of this joint ERIM seminar is on the way Quality Management is perceived and developing in headquarters or in organizations that are closer related to headquarters, versus how Quality Management is perceived in organizations that are much more on a long distance from headquarters. The expectation is that Quality Management is seen differently in the East part of Australia (with larger organizations, closer relationship with headquarters, more manufacturing organizations) versus the West part (smaller organizations, weaker control of headquarters and more non-profit/semi-governmental organizations like Port Authority, Main Road Authority etc).

Alan Brown will talk about his research on Quality Management in two different plants of an Australian organization. There are some interesting issues emerging from these case studies, both within one Australian organization.

Amrik Sohal will talk about his research in relation to Quality and Innovation Management in the Australian subsidiary of a European multinational.
