Trust repair only comes with honest intent – taking responsibility for the crisis is not enough.


Today, Dutch leading newspaper NRC published an opinion article by David De Cremer, Professor of Behavioural Business Ethics and scientific director of the Erasmus Centre of Behavioural Ethics. He claims that what banking directors understand by “trust repair” is something different compared to what psychologists would mean. Namely, taking responsibility and move away from old norms and conventions. The current crisis asks for sacrifice, for sacrificial leadership.
