Network meeting Horticulture – Erasmus University
On Monday 30 May a group of executives from the horticulture sector and academics from Erasmus University will meet to explore potential collaboration.

The Erasmus Horticulture and Food Centre connects academics, entrepreneurs and social organisations to jointly develop and disseminate new knowledge and innovations in the field of horticulture and food production. In this way, it contributes to strengthening the leading position of the Netherlands in this field.

RSM teaches a horticulture course
From April 2022 onwards, RSM teaches a course to a group of 14 financial professionals from the horticulture sector to strengthen their consulting capabilities outside the traditional financial domain.

‘Servitization belangrijke innovatie voor de tuinbouwsector’
Jan van den Ende is hoogleraar management van technologie en innovatie aan de Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). Daarnaast is hij hoogleraar tuinbouwinnovatie. Jan is een gewilde spreker over innovatie in de sector en spreekt regelmatig over servitization. Servitization is het omvormen van de onderneming: van een product- naar een diensten georiënteerd businessmodel. Omdat Blue Radix heel erg gelooft in een diensten georiënteerd businessmodel interviewden we Jan over zijn visie op de glastuinbouw uit het perspectief van innovatie.
Uitwisselen van digitale data zorgt voor nieuwe dynamiek
Onder de noemer Industry 4.0 ondergaat de glastuinbouw veel vernieuwing. Vooral door sensoren en betere communicatietechnologie zet automatisering reuzenstappen. Hoogleraar horticulture innovation Jan van den Ende doet met zijn studenten onderzoek naar data-uitwisseling tussen bedrijven in de keten. Teeltbegeleider Leo van Uffelen gebruikt met succes een dataplatform voor zijn advieswerk.
