Abstract

Marieke van der Poel is Assistant Professor at the Finance Department of the Rotterdam School of Management at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. She received her MSc in Business Administration from the Erasmus University in 2003 and her PhD in Finance from the Rotterdam School of Management in 2008. She spent the spring of 2007 as a visiting doctoral student at the College of Business, Florida State University. In the fall of 2008, she was a visiting scholar at the Katz School of Business, Pittsburgh University. Van der Poel’s research interests are in the area of empirical (behavioral) corporate finance. Her work has been presented at several seminars and international conferences. Her teaching experience involves courses in the area of Corporate Finance, both at a Bachelor and Master level.
