Abstract

The last day of Career & Wellbeing Week will be for PhD's only. This day's programme involves a plenary introduction with a panel discussion which can be followed by three workshops to help you in your career.

In the plenary opening, our host prof. dr. Esther Rozendaal, director of the Erasmus Graduate School of Social Sciences and the Humanities, along with Maarten Ijzerman, dean of Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management and former PhDs Miranda Lutz - Landesbergen and Jasper van den Herik , will share insights on how they have navigated their career as an academic.

Workshop 1: Boost Your Career: Personal Branding & Networking for PhDs

Workshop 2: Personal Leadership in How You Experience Your Work

How can you actively shape and utilize your job to fit your needs, values and preferences? Come to get a taste of what job crafting entails and learn how to craft!

Successfully crafting your job requires understanding of what does and does not suit you. We look at your current way of working to get a good idea on what to change and what to keep. Job crafting is not just about changing external elements, don’t be surprised if the most important element of change is you!

Workshop 3: Building Academic & Industry CV

How is an academic CV structured? What do you mention in your CV and what not? What is the cohesion and difference between your CV and LinkedIn? And how can you define your personal added value in a few sentences so that you are invited for that dream job? In this workshop we give you the tools to build a distinctive CV and we explain the difference between an academic CV end an industry CV.
