Capacitated Procurement Planning with Price-Sensitive Demand and Concave Revenue Functions
We develop an effective solution approach for discrete time, finite horizon procurement planning problems with economies of scale in procurement, price sensitive demand, and time invariant procurement capacities. Our model allows for a concave revenue function in each time period, and seeks to maximize total revenue less procurement and inventory holding costs. We focus on a model in which price may vary dynamically. We provide polynomial time solution methods for these problems that improve on the current best known methods for such models under weaker conditions on the revenue functions.
