<link people _blank>Stijn van Osselaer will chair, along with Darren Dahl and Gita Johar, the 2010 ACR North American Conference to be held in Jacksonville, Florida. They will be joined by Priya Raghubir and Patti Williams, who will serve as the Doctoral Symposium co-chairs. The Association for Consumer Research organizes the North American Conference every year in October.

The mission of the Association for Consumer Research is to advance consumer research and facilitate the exchange of scholarly information among members of academia, industry, and government worldwide. One of the key functions of ACR is to facilitate the growth and advancement of the field of consumer research. To this end, ACR hosts and supports a number of conferences as well as reviews and publishes scholarly research publications.

<link people _blank>Stijn van Osselaer is Professor of Marketing and chairs the marketing department at the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University. His main research interests are in branding and the influences of learning, memory, and cognition in consumers' decisions. Stijn's work has appeared in, for example, the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, and Journal of experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Consumer Research, a former Area Editor at the International Journal of Research in Marketing, and a member of the Journal of Marketing's Editorial Review Board. Stijn received his PhD from the University of Florida and previously served as Assistant and Associate Professor at the University of Chicago Graduate School of business. He has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and at London Business School.

Darren Dahl is the Fred H. Siller Professor in Applied Marketing Research at the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia. His current research interests are in the areas of new product design and development, creativity, consumer product adoption, the role of social influence in consumer behaviour, and understanding the role of self-conscious emotions in consumption. Darren has published in the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, Management Science, and Journal of Consumer Psychology. He currently serves as a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Marketing Research.

Gita Johar is Meyer Feldberg Professor of Business at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University. She received a PhD in Marketing from New York. Gita's research interests are in the area of consumer responses to marketing communications and to temptations in the marketplace. She has contributed to the literature on consumer inferences regarding content and source of marketing messages, measurement of spontaneous inference making, correction of faulty beliefs and updating of attitudes. Her recent research examines consumer self-regulation in terms of goal setting and attainment, lay theories of control, and superstition. Her research has been published in leading marketing and psychology journals. She has been a visiting professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, INSEAD, and the London Business School.
