ESB Top 40: EUR leading –David De Cremer ranks 1st


In the annual Dutch ESB Ranking of Top Economists published last month, the Erasmus University Rotterdam again takes the first place in both the Top 40 ranking of most publicising individual economists as in the ranking of most publicising universities. <link people david-de-cremer _blank>David De Cremer, Professor of Behavioural Business Ethics prominently leads the individual ranking, followed by Dean Philip Hans Franses of the Erasmus School of Economics. In total, a record number of 14 economist in this Top 40 are affiliated to the Erasmus University Rotterdam.

The annual ESB Ranking of Top Economists is an overview of the international publications of economists affiliated to a Dutch university. The economists top 40 was calculated last year by CenER, but this year by the EUR. During the establishment of this year’s ranking, various publications in the period between 2003 and 2007 were taken into account. The Top 40 also s a useful instrument for the division of the scarce research funds available to faculties. The institutional ranking provides an indication of the results of research efforts. The universities participating in this edition were the University of Groningen, the University of Maastricht, the University of Amsterdam, the VU University of Amsterdam, the Radboud University of Nijmegen, the Wageningen University and the Erasmus University.
