Title: Port of Rotterdam – Trends & developments in perishable cargo and the Rotterdam Cool Port project
 

Abstract: After a brief introduction to Port of Rotterdam facts & figures, an overview of the developments in the perishable cargo market will be given. The implications for logistics (Rotterdam and European hinterland) will be considered, and the development of Rotterdam Cool Port will be highlighted.


Rob Zuidwijk (Academic Director ESPR) will provide a brief on the Dinalog project “Cargo Driven Intermodal Transportation” which is inspired by the Rotterdam Cool Port initiative, and he will moderate the discussion.


Curriculum Sofie Tolk:
Master in Organisation Anthropology (University of Utrecht) and Business Administration (Erasmus). Worked for 3 years as accountmanager at Fenedex (Federation Dutch Exporters). Now working for 4 years at Port of Rotterdam as Senior Business Manager for perishable cargo (breakbulk and containers). Responsible for the Rotterdam Cool Port project and member of the Fresh Corridor Committee.
