HRM practices are an essential component of organisational life; providing the structure needed to help leaders and managers effectively manage their employees. In this research stream, we examine how HR policies and practices can be designed and implemented to help individuals to thrive at work. Part of this is forming a deeper understanding about how individuals’ perceive HR practices, and how these perceptions are formed. Understanding this relationship – between design, implementation, perception and thriving – is essential for organisations, because when employees thrive they perform at their best, achieving their potential and promoting positive outcomes for the organisation.
