Profile
Since August 2008, Ilona de Hooge is working as an assistant professor at the department of Marketing Management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. She started her research in 2004 as a Ph.D. student in Social and Economic Psychology at Tilburg University. There, she conducted many empirical studies on the influences of self-conscious and moral emotions such as shame and guilt on (pro)social behavior and decision making. Nowadays, Ilona has expanded her research interests to the influence of emotions on different marketing practices such as donations, gift-giving, promotions, advertising, and advice.
