Recommendation Systems in the Context of Scheduling Household Appliances

Speaker

Abstract

The talk gives an introduction to the field of recommender systems and explores opportunities for applying recommendation technology in energy related fields such as scheduling of household appliances or mixed-initiative agent-based simulation scenarios of energy markets like Power TAC.

The talk will focus particularly on topics that are underrepresented in current recommender systems research, but very relevant for the interaction with users, such as conversational interaction strategies, knowledge-based recommendation or explanations in recommender systems.
