Formal Concept Analysis and Fuzzy Logics

Speaker

Abstract

Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) is a mathematical theory which uses formal contexts and concept lattices to model the concept of "concepts". It is used for data analysis, knowledge representation, and information management. The fuzzy logic and fuzzy set theories were introduced by prof. Zadeh in the 1960s and are consolidated in various areas of the human knowledge. Fuzzy logics have also been used in conjunction with FCA in order to provide a way of handling continuous attributes. In this presentation, FCA and fuzzy logics will be briefly introduced, as well as some applications.
