Abstract

Manoj K. Agarwal is Associate Professor of Marketing at the School of

Management, Binghamton University, State University of New York. Dr. Agarwal holds a

Ph.D. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a member of the

editorial board for the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. Over the past

years, he has published several papers on corporate branding and brand equity in the

top marketing journals. Particularly, last year Dr. Agarwal published an important paper

on corporate branding in the Journal of Marketing (together with Vithala Rao and Denise

Dahlhoff). With this paper, Dr. Agarwal won the Marketing Science Institute/ Journal of

Marketing International Research Competition on Linking Marketing to Financial

Performance and Firm Value in 2002, as well as the Robert D. Buzzell MSI Working

Paper Award in 2005, which signals a kind of writing and research that is of lasting value

to marketing practice and thought. In addition, in May of this year, he won the Corning

Award for Excellence in Research, School of Management, Binghamton University.
