Social Innovation can make the difference

“If we do not invest in social innovation, even more of our activities will be moved abroad” – argues Henk Volberda, Professor of Strategic Management and Business Policy and Director of Knowledge Transfer when interviewed on BNR Newsradio on the subject of job reorganisation. He identifies a growing negative development of knowledge-intensive jobs being transferred out of The Netherlands, due to a lack of social innovation.

Social Innovation, or ‘working smarter’, can make the difference between lay-offs and growth and can allow for healthy local and international competition. A number of initiatives have been taken already, like the Platform for Social Innovation, but there is more to be done.
