Bob de Kuyper


Mr. Bob de Kuyper started his career at the family company, De Kuyper Royal Distillers, in 1977 after finishing his education at Erasmus University (Interfaculteit Bedrijfskunde). After being responsible for 10 years for sales and marketing Mr. de Kuyper became CEO of De Kuyper in 1991. He resigned in 2009 and is currently a part time associate of Bakkenist. Mr. de Kuyper is a board member of four family owned companies and of the international association of family companies ‘Les Hénokiens’. To be a member, firms must be older than 200 years. Mr. de Kuyper is married and has two sons and a daughter.

The history of De Kuyper Royal Distillers stems back to the year 1695. The production and export of Geneva Gin (Jenever) was the main activity until 1920. De Kuyper today still exports 80% of its turnover, mainly liqueurs (cordials). The company has offices and production facilities in Schiedam, Middelharnis and Dordrecht. In the Unites States and Canada the De Kuyper brand has an excellent position. In these countries production, sales and marketing takes place under license. Besides the brand name De Kuyper, the company owns brands such as Warnink (advocaat), Peachtree, Mandarine Napoleon and Rutte (jenever). De Kuyper Royal Distillers is still fully owned by the family with the 11th generation now active in the company.
