HR Business Networking Event: Inclusive HR – creating added value from an ageing workforce

Speakers

Abstract

An ageing workforce is now acknowledged to be a global issue, and concerns are being raised about shortages of labour and skills. The labour market could shrink by nearly 15% by 2050 in Europe, and if nothing is done, for every retiree there might be only one person employed. This would come at a high price for the competitiveness of companies, for social security systems, and to social cohesion. Human Resource managers are in a key position to help organisations deal with the challenges of an ageing workforce, and they will need tools to deal with new and future needs in organisations.

During this event, we will present the new findings of The Erasmus Centre for HR Excellence, showing that steps towards diversity are often motivated more by necessity than by idealism. We will also focus on how key success factors for managing an ageing workforce can actually help create added value for HR.
