Frank Belschak

 

Frank (1969, Phd in 2001 from the University of Cologne) is an associate ERIM member in the field of Marketing. He currently holds a position as Assistant Professor of Marketing at the School of Economics. Frank received his PhD in Applied Psychology, titled ´Stress in Organizations: Development and Empirical Validation of an Integrative Organizational Stress Model´ in 2001 at the University of Cologne in Germany. After obtaining his PhD, he has worked as an Assistant Professor at Cologne University at the Department for Social and Economic Psychology before moving to Rotterdam and starting at Erasmus University. Next to his degree in Business Administration, Frank also graduated in Educational Sciences. His research interests are applied psychology (marketing and organizational psychology) – especially the role of emotions in organizations and emotions in sales – as well as knowledge management in Marketing.

Jan van den Berg

 

 

The membership of dr.ir. Jan van den Berg (1951, Phd in 1996 from ESE Erasmus University) http://www.few.eur.nl/few/people/jvandenberg/has been renewed. Jan is Associate Professor working in the Computer Sciences Group of the Department of Econometrics & Management Science, Erasmus School of Economics, Erasmus University. He received his PhD entitled “Neural Relaxation Dynamics, Mathematics and Physics of Recurrent Neural Networks with Applications in the Field of Combinatorial Optimization” at the ESE Erasmus University. His promoter was prof. dr A. de Bruin. His Copromotor was dr. J.C. Bioch. Other members were prof. dr. E.H.L. Aarts, prof. dr. ir. R. Dekker and prof. dr. ir. A. Nijholt. Jan’s research interests are in the field of Computational Intelligence ((probabilistic) fuzzy systems, artificial networks, genetic algorithms, and other machine learning algorithms) with applications in Finance, Sustainable Development and (Intelligent) Knowledge Management (see, e.g., the projects VICORE and Research in Semantic Scholarly Publishing). He is also doing research with respect to technical and organisational aspects of Information Security in modern (e-)Business. Jan is one of the founders of the Bachelor and Master Programs in Informatics & Economics at the ESE.

Sigrid de Wever

Sigrid de Wever (Belgian, born in 1975) is an associate ERIM member in the field of Strategy and Environment. Her current position is Assistant Professor at the department of Strategy and Environment at the RSM Erasmus University. Sigrid received her PhD in Applied Economics - Strategic Management, titled "Developing capabilities through networks: a social capital perspective", in 2004 from the University of Antwerp (Belgium). Her supervisor was Dr. Rudy Martens (University of Antwerp (Belgium). Her research interests are Interorganisational and intraorganisational networks, cooperation versus competition (coopetition), social capital,learning and capability development.

Antonio J. Verdu-Jovér

 

Antionio (Spanish, born in 1970) is a postdoc at RSM Erasmus University.
He studied business administration at the Autonoma University of Madrid (diploma) and Granada University (graduate) both in Spain. He received his Phd (dissertation titled “Relation between flexibility and organizational performance: an approach from the perspective of the TQM”) from the Granada University in Spain in 2002. Before joining the RSM Erasmus University, Antonio was Associate Professor of Management at Miguel Hernandez University. His research interests are Flexibility, Strategic flexibility, Dynamic capabilities, Organizational learning and innovation, Strategic fit, Balanced Scorecard, Total Quality Management and Perceived quality.


As a postdoc, he is refining some papers that are in the process of being reviewed and preparing others with the collaboration of Prof. dr. H.W. Volberda. We are trying to extend the theoretical and empirical foundation for flexible organizations and flexible behaviors.
