Frans van den Bosch: Highly Distinguished ERIM Promotor
On Thursday, November 20, Frans van den Bosch has delivered his 25th PhD: Marten Stienstra. For this very special occasion, ERIM has initiated and created a new and unique honour award: ERIM Praeceptor Doctorum Celeberrimus Award (in English: 'Highly Distinguished ERIM Promotor'). This award is made for an ERIM Promotor who has delivered 25 PhD's as a career achievement. The award is entirely written in Latin.
The ceremony took place at the 'Erasmus huis Rotterdam'. Ale Smidts (Scientific Director ERIM) and Olga Novikova (Manager Doctoral Programme ERIM) handed over the award to Frans with a short speech in english and Latin.
Among the 25 PhD's of Promotor Frans van den Bosch, were two Cum Laude PhD's: Paul Vlaar (2006) and Justin Jansen (2005). Other PhD’s of van den Bosch were: Wietze van der Aa (2000), Marc Aalders (1994), Michiel de Boer (2000), Peter Boone (1997), Henri Burgers (2008), Marjolein Dijksterhuis (2003), Peter Elfferich (1992), Bert Flier (2003), Hans van der Heijden (1995), Pursey Heugens (2001), Wim Hulsink (1992), Marc Huygens (1992), Erik van Leeuwen (2007), Gregory Maassen (1997), Ard-Pieter de Man (1996), Tom Mom (2006), Martijn Rademakers (1999), Patteri Sivula (1997), Henk Snier (1995), Marten Stienstra (2008), Raymond van Wijk (2003), Bob de Wit (1994), Gerard van der Zaal (1997). The 'promotor performance' of Frans is unprecedented at ERIM.
