Marcello Palazzi  is a serial entrepreneur in ventures and initiatives that enhance the common good.  Since his 20s, he has led or co-led over 300 projects (ventures, events, talks, publications, partnerships) in 30 countries, pursuing “civic capitalism”, a term he coined in 1989 and led to the launch of Progressio Foundation, his main vehicle since.  His publication “Towards the civic economy”, 1990, has been hailed by many as being a prescient mapping of many economic and managerial advances that have actually occurred since.

Marcello Palazzi is by education economist, business strategist and manager and foreign affairs’ specialist, following studies at LSE, LBS, Erasmus, MIT.  His early career includes being elected President of the Student Government at University at age 21 and founding his own company, at age 22, as an extension of a family business in environmental diagnostics, which he helped grow and sell ten years later (1992).

He has recently been invited to Oxford and Cambridge in 2014, to participate in the Scenario Planning and the Prince of Wales Sustainability programs, respectively.  Marcello Palazzi is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in London and Executive Fellow, Enterprise Acceleration at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.

Marcello Palazzi is also proud of his co-leadership of the Spirit in Business Foundation, which he, Sander Tideman and Anders Ferguson, founded and run from 2001 to 2005, organising events worldwide, some including HH the Dalai Lama, aiming to help leaders in business and government apply ethical values and spiritual teachings to their worldly activities.
