Companies should aim at spending 10% of revenue on innovation

On the 9th of October, a Financial Agenda session of CFOs was organised by the FD in collaboration with Deutsche Bank. Henk Volberda was present as key-note speaker. The main focus of the article is the discussion on how to finance and evaluate innovation. Henk Volberda states that 10% of a company’s revenue should be spent on innovation, CFOs argue that it depends on the type of industry that you are in and whether you are currently experiencing rapid growth. Furthermore, the argument continues on how to decide whether to keep investing in a project and believe in its future potential or to let it go.
