Rolf van Lieshout wins second prize in 2018 RAS Student Paper Award


ERIM PhD candidate Rolf van Lieshout of Erasmus School of Economics has won the second prize in the 2018 RAS Student Paper Award contest on analytics and fact-based decision making in railway applications.

RAS (Railway Applications Section), a subdivision of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS), granted Rolf van Lieshout with a USD 500 cash prize for his paper ‘Determining and Evaluating Alternative Line Plans in (Near) Out-of-Control Situations’.

Rolf van Lieshout currently works on his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Professor Dennis Huisman and Dr Paul Bouman of Erasmus School of Economics, both co-author of the Prize winning paper.
