ERIM/PRIME Privacy for Business Workshop - The Airlines Sector

Speaker

Abstract

There are increasing demands on businesses to comply with regulations for processing of sensitive personal data. Business research can contribute to the understanding of business drivers for data privacy in business organisations. The first "Privacy for Business" workshop organised jointly by the Erasmus Research Institute in Management (ERIM) and the Privacy and Identity Management for Europe (PRIME) project strives to bridge the gap between theory and practice in privacy for business, in this instance focusing on the transfer of passenger data in the airlines sector. Researchers will present current research on the economics of privacy, business models for privacy, privacy metrics, the cost of privacy, and enforcement of privacy. The schedule includes time reserved for questions and discussion, and concludes with a panel session for further research. The program for this afternoon is as follows.
