Developing Leaders and Leadership: Principles, Practices, and Processes

Speaker

Abstract

This talk will provide an overview of a forthcoming book on developing leaders and leadership. One theme of the talk will argue for a shift from the dominant focus on leader development programs to an orientation on developmental systems designed based on open systems principles. Another theme will be on the nascent role of place in (a) developing leader self-awareness and (b) shaping emergent states in the development of collective leadership. The talk will conclude with a summary of what we presently know from science about developing leaders and leadership and a look to pressing future research questions that remain.

This seminar will take place in room T10-67, Mandeville Building. Alternatively, please find below the details to join the seminar via Zoom.
