Supply Chain Management in Australia: Past Present and Future Challenges

Abstract

In this seminar Professor Sohal will discuss the results of recent Australian studies examining supply chain management issues in three different industries (automotive, textiles and cereal products) as well present the results of a questionnaire survey of supply chain professionals examining their competencies, use of supply chain technologies and future challenges. The aim is to discuss potential opportunities for research collaboration in this area between RSM and Monash.

Dr Amrik Sohal is a Professor in the Department of Management, Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash University where is heads the Business Operations and Services (BOS) discipline group.  He is also Director of the Australian Supply Chain Management Research Unit and is currently developing the MINT (Management of Innovation and New Technology) Research Program.  Amrik is a Part-President of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM) and has held various faculty level positions at Monash University since 1993, including Associate Dean (Research).
