Purchasing Value: Purchasing and Supply Management’s Contribution to Health Service Performance

Speaker

Abstract

The health sector forms a large and growing part of GDP across the globe. National and local governments and insurers face the challenge of putting these ever increasing budgets at work to purchase high-quality health services and meet the demands of their populations. Professor Van Raaij will argue that better purchasing strategies and a better perspective over the value chain could improve the situation, but it would require purchasing to be viewed as more than just ‘buying’ health care services and goods.
